Children's Ministries

 

    • Children's Sunday School Classes at 9:45 am are offered for children of all ages. Lessons revolve around Bible stories, crafts, games and music. The Littlest Angels class is for children from ages 0-2 and is supervised by our nursey worker.  The Little Lambs class is for children ages 3-pre K, The children are introduced to the stories of the Bible in terms befitting younger children.  Lessons are taught through the use of felt board, stories, games, crafts, and music.  The Colorful Christians class is for our Kindergarden and grades 1-3 age children.  This class allows them to continue the journey of the Bible and starts to teach the basics of the United Methodist beliefs.  Children learn the Books of the Bible, as well as how to use them.  Lessons are taught through the use of skits, crafts, experiments, and games.  The Bible Bees class is for Children in grades 4-5.  The class begins to challenge children to start applying the lessons of the Old Testament to their lives.  Additional learning in the Books of the Bible and how to use their Bibles.  Lessons are taught through the use of skits, crafts, experiments, and games.  Parents escort their child to class and sign them in and out.
    • Children's Church begins after the Children's Message (both services).  Children through Kindergarten age are then escorted by a parent to the classroom. Through the instruction of a teacher and an assistant, children will learn bible life stories and lessons.  At the end of the worship service, children must be picked up by a parent/guardian.
    • Children's Choirs (Joan Wilson and Cathy Lipscomb, directors) are held on Wednesdays September through June. The Cherub Choir, who are younger children (ages 3 through 7), practice from 5:00 - 5:30pm and will proceed to WOW activities when practice is complete.  The Wesley Choir, who are older children (ages 8 through 5th grade), practice from 5:30 - 6:00pm and will then join the younger children for WOWChildren's choir practice will be cancelled during inclement weather conditions, IF HENRICO COUNTY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED.
    • Prayer Pup or Prayer Bear is assigned to a child for one week after the children's message at each Sunday worship service to provide prayer support and encouragement.
    • Special Children's Activities are scheduled throughout the year for our children.  We feel these special times are very important in their spiritual lifes and a little bit of fun puts a lot of smiles on their faces.
    • WOW is a Wednesday children's program held between 5:00pm and 7:00pm during September through June.  The program consists of a light dinner, games, crafts, and a bible story.  This activity is open to all interested children between the age of 3 up to those in the 5th grade (even those not a member of Saint Andrew's).  This is a wonderful session for kids, so please have them join us.  Please check out the following site to see what's for dinner and an opportunity to volunteer in preparing the meal for the children:

       In compliance with our Safe Sanctuaries Policy, all Children will be signed in and out by a parent/guardian.

       WOW will also be cancelled during inclement weather conditions, IF HENRICO COUNTY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED  

 

  

Children's nursery is available for all church services

   

During Sunday morning 8:30am and 11:00am church services, a staffed nursery is provided for infants and young toddlers.  A staffed nursery is also provided for other church activities when the activity does not include nursery aged children.  In compliance with our Safe Sanctuaries Policy, children must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian.  All preschoolers must have a parent/guardian present during the program.
